Summary of New Kid

New Kid is a graphic novel by Jerry Craft about Jordan Banks, a seventh-grade student from Washington Heights who is forced to attend a prestigious private school in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. As the only Black student in an unfamiliar environment, Jordan struggles to fit in and to express himself as an artist. Despite initial challenges, Jordan slowly finds his place among his peers, learns to embrace his talents, and discovers the power of community. Along the way, he also confronts racism, challenges stereotypes, and discovers his own voice and identity.
