My Experiments with Truth is an autobiography written by Mahatma Gandhi, first published in 1927. It is a detailed account of his struggle to find personal spiritual truth through his experiments with various forms of truth. The book chronicles his formative years in India, as well as his experiences studying and practicing law in London. It also details his struggles to develop his moral code, culminating in the establishment of his philosophy of satyagraha or "truth force," a nonviolent way to attain freedom. The book also outlines the philosophy of non-violence and ahimsa or compassion, which he used to rally for India's independence and spread civil rights around the world. Beyond this, the book is also an exploration of the importance of leading by example and living with full integrity, and of how to be tolerant and forgiving of others in order to build lasting connections and reconciliation.
