Summary of Five Stars

Five Stars is the story of a small-town teen, Sam, as she navigates through the highs and lows of high school—cliques, drama, fear, and fitting in—all while secretly trying to make it big in Hollywood. After piloting a play in her senior year drama class, Sam discovers her passion for writing, and begins to pursue her dream of becoming a playwright. As she works on her script, Sam has to endure bullying, find friends and allies, and deal with her own insecurities. In the end, Sam and her friends ultimately rise up together in their own fashion and find their own triumphant paths through the trials of high school. After all their struggles, Sam discovers that her own successes are often found in the five-star moments of life’s journey.
