Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Writings and Speeches is a three-volume compilation of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s writings and speeches. The first volume focuses on topics such as the philosophy of Hinduism, the pre-requisites for a successful communist revolution, the relationship between revolution and counter-revolution, and a comparison between the ideologies of the Buddha and Karl Marx. In the second volume, Ambedkar expresses his thoughts on the caste system, the Dravidian movement, communalism, and women’s rights. Finally, in the third volume, Ambedkar investigates topics such as Gandhi’s idea of Satyagraha and its role in achieving India’s independence, the caste question, and the role of students in nation building. By articulating his sharply reasoned views on myriad topics, Ambedkar’s writings and speeches have been a source of inspiration for generations of activists in India and elsewhere.
