Summary of Christy

Christy is a coming-of-age novel by Catherine Marshall, which follows an idealistic young woman of the same name as she moves to the Appalachian Mountains of Tennessee to teach at a mission school in 1912. Christy faces many struggles as she endeavors to bring education to the impoverished local children and comes to terms with her own naivety, while also finding love with a handsome doctor, David Grantland.
