Summary of Aeneid

The Aeneid is an epic poem written by Virgil between 29 and 19 BC. Set during the aftermath of the Trojan War, it tells the story of Aeneas, a Trojan hero, and his journey from Troy to Italy, where he became the ancestor of the Roman people. Along the way, Aeneas must overcome numerous obstacles, including the wrath of the gods, the interference of Juno, and the power of love. He is aided by his fate, the gods, his bravery, and his loyal crew, and eventually founds the city of Rome. Through Aeneas's journey, Virgil paints a moralistic tale of suffering, endurance, and eventual success.
