The Bible teaches that true faith in Jesus Christ will always produce visible change in a person's life. This change is not optional or superficial; it is a radical transformation that affects every aspect of a believer's being. Genuine faith in Christ cannot exist apart from the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. When someone truly believes in Jesus, they are born again, made new, and become a new creation. This transformation is seen in a person's attitudes, desires, priorities, and behavior. A true believer will begin to love the things that God loves and hate the things that God hates. They will strive to obey God's commands out of a heart of gratitude and devotion, not out of a sense of duty or obligation. This change is not instantaneous or automatic, but it is progressive and ongoing as the believer grows in their relationship with Christ. The apostle Paul describes this transformation as a process of sanctification, where the believer is being conformed to the image of Christ. This process involves the renewing of the mind, the crucifying of the flesh, and the putting on of the new self. It is a lifelong journey of spiritual growth and maturity that is fueled by faith, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and guided by the Word of God. While good works are not the basis of salvation, they are the evidence of salvation. True faith will always be accompanied by good works, as James writes, "Faith without works is dead." A person who claims to have faith in Christ but does not demonstrate that faith through their actions is deceiving themselves. Genuine faith will always produce fruit, as Jesus Himself said, "By their fruits, you will know them." In summary, true faith in Jesus Christ will always produce visible change in a person's life. This change is a radical transformation that affects every aspect of a believer's being and is evidence of the indwelling Holy Spirit. The process of sanctification involves the renewing of the mind, the crucifying of the flesh, and the putting on of the new self. Good works are the evidence of genuine faith and are the natural outworking of a heart that has been transformed by the gospel.
