Embracing change with grace from "summary" of The Bhagavad Gita by Swami Sivananda

The Bhagavad Gita teaches us that change is the very nature of life. Everything in this world is constantly changing - seasons come and go, day turns into night, and our circumstances are always in flux. Instead of resisting change, we are encouraged to embrace it with grace. When we resist change, we create suffering for ourselves. We become attached to things staying the same, and when they inevitably change, we experience pain and disappointment. But when we learn to accept change as a natural part of life, we can move through transitions with ease and peace. One of the key teachings of the Bhagavad Gita is the concept of detachment. Detachment does not mean that we become indifferent or uncaring. Rather, it means that we cultivate a sense of inner peace and equanimity that allows us to flow with the changes of life without being thrown off balance. By embracing change with grace, we can learn to let go of our attachment to outcomes and surrender to the greater wisdom of the universe. We can trust that even in the midst of change, there is a deeper order at work that is guiding us towards our highest good. When we resist change, we are like a tree that refuses to bend in the wind - we risk being broken by the force of life's inevitable transformations. But when we embrace change with grace, we become like a river that flows easily around obstacles, always moving towards its destination with beauty and power.
