The body is just a temporary vessel for the soul from "summary" of Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta - Gita Saar (Hindi) 2020: भाग 1 by पं. रवि शर्मा
The body, which is made up of the five elements, is perishable and temporary in nature. It is subject to birth and death, growth and decay. It is like a garment that the soul wears for a limited period of time. Just as we discard old clothes and wear new ones, the soul discards old bodies and takes on new ones. The soul, on the other hand, is eternal and unchanging. It is indestructible and beyond the reach of death. It is the true essence of our being, the source of life and consciousness. It is the part of us that is connected to the divine, to the ultimate reality. It is the witness, the observer, the knower of all that happens in the body and the mind. The body is like a chariot, the senses are the horses, the mind is the reins, and the intellect is the charioteer. The soul is the master of the chariot, the one who directs and guides it. When the soul is in control, the chariot moves smoothly and reaches its destination safely. But when the senses are unruly and the mind is restless, the chariot goes off course and gets into trouble. Therefore, we must learn to detach ourselves from the body and identify with the soul. We must realize that we are not the body, but the immortal soul that dwells within it. We must strive to purify our minds, control our senses, and align our actions with the will of the soul. Only then can we attain true peace, happiness, and liberation.Similar Posts
