Force seeks validation through dominance from "summary" of Power vs. Force by David R. Hawkins, M.D., Ph.D.
The desire for validation is a fundamental aspect of the human experience. We all seek to feel accepted, appreciated, and understood by others. This need for validation can manifest in various ways, but one common approach is through dominance. When we feel insecure or uncertain about our own worth, we may attempt to assert our power over others in order to prove our strength and significance. This need for dominance can be seen in many aspects of human behavior, from interpersonal relationships to global politics. People often try to control others, either through physical force or through more subtle forms of manipulation, in order to feel validated and respected. This need for dominance can stem from a deep-seated fear of being seen as weak or inadequate. By exerting power over others, individuals hope to gain a sense of control and security in an unpredictable and often hostile world. However, the pursuit of validation through dominance is ultimately a futile and self-defeating endeavor. True power does not come from external sources or from the subjugation of others. It comes from within, from a deep sense of self-awareness and self-acceptance. When we rely on dominance to feel validated, we are only reinforcing our own insecurities and perpetuating a cycle of fear and aggression. In contrast, true power is rooted in love, compassion, and understanding. It is the ability to connect with others on a deeper level, to see beyond the surface and recognize the inherent worth and dignity of every individual. When we approach the world from a place of power, rather than force, we can transcend the need for dominance and embrace a more authentic and fulfilling way of being. So, instead of seeking validation through dominance, we must learn to cultivate true power through inner strength and self-awareness. Only then can we break free from the cycle of fear and aggression and truly connect with others in a meaningful and transformative way.Similar Posts
