Embrace the impermanence of life from "summary" of Be As You Are by Sri Ramana Maharshi
The impermanence of life is a fundamental truth that we must come to terms with. Everything in this world is subject to change, decay, and ultimately, death. This impermanence is not something to be feared or resisted, but something to be accepted and embraced. When we resist impermanence, we suffer. We cling to things that are fleeting, hoping to find security and permanence in a world that is constantly shifting and changing. This clinging only leads to more suffering, as we are inevitably faced with loss, disappointment, and the pain of separation. To embrace the impermanence of life is to accept the nature of reality as it is. It is to recognize that everything is transient, and that holding on to things only causes us more pain. When we let go of our attachments and expectations, we are able to live more fully in the present moment, appreciating each experience for what it is without trying to hold on to it or make it last forever. By embracing impermanence, we free ourselves from the burden of trying to control the uncontrollable. We find peace in the midst of chaos, and joy in the face of uncertainty. We are able to live more authentically, knowing that everything is temporary and that the only constant is change. To embrace impermanence is to embrace life itself, in all its beauty and complexity. It is to surrender to the flow of existence, trusting in the wisdom of the universe and the inherent impermanence of all things. In doing so, we find liberation from suffering and a profound sense of peace that transcends all understanding.Similar Posts
