Most people live in a state of unconsciousness from "summary" of Awareness by Osho

Awareness is a precious state, yet it is rarely encountered. Many drift through life, caught in a web of conditioning, thoughts, and automatic reactions. The routines of everyday existence often mask the deeper truths of being. This habitual way of living creates a veil that obscures the essence of life, rendering individuals oblivious to their true selves and the world around them. It is easy to get lost in the noise of society, where external expectations and internal fears dictate actions. Most navigate their days on auto-pilot, reacting to stimuli without genuine engagement or reflection. This lack of presence leads to a superficial existence, where experiences are not fully absorbed or appreciated. The mind, filled with incessant chatter, distracts from the profound beauty of simply being. To awaken from this slumber requires a shift in perception. It involves stepping back from the incessant flow of thoughts and distractions, allowing space for awareness to flourish. When one begins to observe their thoughts and feelings without judgment, a doorway opens to a deeper understanding of the self. The journey towards awareness is not about achieving perfection or escaping life’s challenges. Instead, it is about embracing the present moment with openness and curiosity. Awareness transforms life from a mere routine into a vibrant tapestry, woven with the threads of consciousness and presence.
